First day of activities and we were treated to glorious sunshine and mostly blue skies. We started the day with a refreshing run, followed by a hearty cooked breakfast.

The groups headed out to their activities with gusto and perhaps a spot of trepidation. Fears were soon overcome as the children threw themselves into surfing, high ropes and climbing. We were thrilled to see the children supporting each other by cheering on their teams when knees looked a bit wobbly on the high ropes.  The waves crashed in on the surfers and some even managed to stand up on their boards. At times, you could have been mistaken for thinking it was Bondi beach!

After a little post supper sing-song, the corridor came alive as the Lorax’s, Mario brothers, swash-buckling pirates and a giant inflatable shark (to name a few) strutted their stuff down the catwalk. The highlight of this evening, however, was the Grand Opening of the tuck shop. And now, to wear off all that energy on the dance floor. We shall all sleep well tonight!
