With chicken burgers digested and tuck shop treats providing a new source of energy, it was time for some more evening fun. As ever, we had some wonderful costumes for the fancy dress.

Story time brought part one of a tale about a remote and highly rare (so rare there is in fact no records of their existence) chunga bunga creature from the depths of the Amazon rainforest. The children wait on tenterhooks to find out if the little chunga bunga, Ralph, will overcome adversity and survive his juvenile years with the odds stacked against him.

Donna continued with the theme of ‘noticing’ in our evening reflection. Yesterday, we noticed God’s creation in all its majesty, awe and wonder. Today, we were encouraged by Donna to notice where we experienced God’s work: in the power and beauty of the waves; in the patience and skill of the baby heron fishing in the river; in the sun gleaming through the tempestuous clouds; in our will to succeed and overcome our fears; in our love and support for each other; in our smiles and laughter – it was all around us, ubiquitous, everywhere we looked. Such a comfort.

Good evening all. Everyone is fast asleep, safe and sound.
