This evening, our eight groups met with their Bude instructors and looked back on their week of adventure. So much fun, so many hurdles overcome, so many memories.

It was then time to hear which team had scored the most points and which six children had particularly stood out as Bottlers (overcoming challenges and fears), Jokers (bringing joy and laughter to all) and Superstars (all round champions) – two for each category.

It was then party time. Just Dance and Timber was the final song of the night; Mr Cadman giving Mr Harvey a piggy back for the final manoeuvre.

Part Three and the conclusion of the story of the chunga bungas ended happily, thankfully, with new found friendships and the love of a parent proving a powerful force.

Reverend Donna led our final reflection of the week on memories. We all remember our Year 6 residential and that will be the same for these young adventurers.

A thank you to our St Mary’s staff. They’ve had a great week too but have left loved ones at home and been working round the clock supporting our children.

But our biggest thanks must go to the parents, for giving the children this opportunity. Here in Bude, they have grown hugely in confidence. Confidence is a gift that will take you places, allow you to fulfil your dreams, enable you to be the changemakers the world needs. So watch out folks; these Year 6s will return to Twickenham walking an inch or two higher, and who knows, maybe they’ll even keep their rooms tidy. We can but dream 😉
