Year 3 took the bus to Kew Gardens this week and became ‘Plant Scientists’. The children got to identify and name the key parts of a plant, describe the life cycle of a plant and recognise the factors necessary for plants to be able to grow. They also got to explore Kew going on a hunt for different plants and answered questions about the differing environments they live in.
The children have been looking at the sculpture Henry Moore in Art and Kew is home to some very interesting pieces of art, so we were very lucky to see those there too.
A fantastic, educational day was had by all, minus the rain, hail and thunder Poplars endured at the end of the day!
