As the final night drew in, 86 children disappeared to their rooms to get ready for a final meal followed by a party; 86 seemingly young adults returned in their best digs, glammed up and positively beaming with excitement.

Our final dinner gave everyone the opportunity to dive further into French culture and cuisine with snails and frogs legs on offer.

After a huge ‘merci beaucoup’ to our chefs for the week, we hit the dance floor.

The highlight of the evening had to be an uncharacteristic visit to the dance floor by Mr Murphy, spurred into action by Beyonce’s ‘All the single ladies’. Who’d have thought the big guy had such rhythm!

Alas, all parties must come to an end. The group convened on the lawns for a final bedtime story; this time a story about the undocumented chimichanga mammal from South America and the migratory patterns of the adults and their 90 young. There is a moral in there somewhere – or it’s just a Mexican dish…you decide.

A final photo before bedtime. An early rise tomorrow in the desperate attempt not to miss our ferry.

Oh yes, one final note. Parents, these children have been a delight to be with this week: polite, appreciative, fun – terrific company. You should be really proud. But, there’s also been another group who’ve been great; also having lots of fun but sacrificing a week with loved ones at home to make this experience possible. Huge thanks to them.
